How much does cremation cost with Kings Funerals?
Costs vary depending on the crematorium and services chosen. For example, Geelong Cemeteries Trust charges between $645 and $1,110 for adult cremation. There are also some required fees for transportation, mortuary care, coffin or shroud, and management of administrative and legal tasks. Our least expensive package for direct cremation with no funeral gathering is $5,731.90 which includes your choice of Raw or Cardboard coffin and not same day cremation. Additional costs apply for organising a funeral gathering at one or more locations, long distance transfer, non-standard coffin size, alternative coffin, casket or shroud choices, opportunity to view, same day cremation, flowers, newspaper notices, printed keepsakes and other funeral choices. We can guide you through pricing details specific to your needs.
What legal paperwork is required for cremation?
Either a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) prepared by a doctor or a Coroner’s Release will be prepared depending on whether the cause of death requires investigation. All deceased people who are not in the care of the Coroner will require a second doctor to review the MCCD and visit the deceased person before completing a Certificate of Registered Medical Practitioner Authorising Cremation form. These documents are requested and coordinated by our operations team and medical practitioners in the days leading up to the cremation. You will need to provide details and sign an Application for Cremation Authorisation. Our team will assist you with completing and submitting all necessary paperwork to ensure everything is handled smoothly.
Can I spend time with my person before cremation?
Yes. Viewing and vigil options are available, including private moments with your person before the cremation process. We can arrange this according to your preferences.
What is cremation jewellery?
Cremation jewellery is a meaningful keepsake designed to hold a small portion of your person’s ashes. We offer a variety of styles to help you keep their memory close in a personal way.
